Dragon Age Inquisition More Slots

The Refined Battlemaster Mail is the best armor for tank warriors, thanks to 3 defense slots totaling 16 materials, as well as 2 upgrade slots for an additional 24 materials. The Superior Battlemaster Mail and Coat are slightly behind the refined, losing only 2 crafting materials (total of 16 versus 14). Here then are a few more tips for newbies to Dragon Age: Inquisition, this time for crafting, focus and guard. Let’s first establish that because this is meant for newbies, it is by no means extensive nor do we purport to have the most detailed and intricate guide on the internet. Sep 13, 2016  Load more. Game Cheats:
Getting the War Nug mount:
Travel to Val Royeaux, and look for a vendor named Deraboam in a small store with a blue door. Interact with the chest to find 'The Mystery Box' unique item, which costs 10,000 coin. Buy it to unlock 'The Big One?' mission on the global war board. Then, send one of your advisors to complete 'The Big One?' mission, and they will return with the giant War Nug mount.

Getting a free horse:
Once you reach the Hinterlands zone, travel to the far western corner to investigate the 'Master Of Horses' side-quest. It is west of the Redcliffe Farms Camp. You can see the large stables from a distance. Travel up the hill to the large homestead, talk to Master Dennet, and agree to his terms to get a free Ferelden Forder. You can collect the horse with the saddles in the stables to the right of the path as you exit the house.

Romance Options Guide:
* Marriage is not included. This isn’t like Skyrim where marriage is an available institution - relationships are explicitly story-driven and will only develop after reaching milestones in the campaign.
* There are eight romantic partners available. Not all romantic options are party members, some are characters that join your party as advisers or serve other purposes as aids to the Inquisitor.
* Each romantic partner has specific preferences that translate into hard
requirements in-game. Some will only become romantic with male inquisitors, female inquisitors, or both.
* Some options will only become involved with specific races. These two additional romantic options are not as involved as the first six and are only available to female Inquisitors.

Companion Locations:
Go to the indicated location to find the corresponding companion to join your party. There are a total of nine companions that can join your party, not including your character. Each companion has unique skills and stories, as well as their own romantic interactions and side-quests. All companions except for Cassandra, Solas, and Varric are optional.

Sera
When entering Val Royeaux, the capitol of Orlais, there will be a glowing red arrow near your character. Find all the arrow messages around the city to meet Sera.

Note: You must complete the 'A Friend Of Red Jenny' quest before you can recruit Sera.

Lady Vivienne
When you reach the opening courtyard in Val Royeaux, look for a messenger near the fountain on your way out of the city to get the 'Ghislain Estate' quest. He will give you an invitation to meet with Lady Vivienne at her estate.

Iron Bull
Go to the gate doors outside the Chantry in Haven. Wait until a messenger appears and invites you to the Storm Coast. Note: You must complete 'The Captain Of The Chargers' quest in the Storm Coast before you can recruit Iron Bull.

Blackwall
After Leliana gives you 'The Lone Warden' quest, you can find him in the Hinterlands area.

Dorian
After Fiona requests for the Herald to meet with a faction of Mages, you can find Dorian in Redcliffe.

Cole
Later in the story, Cole will appears in Haven. He cannot be missed or acquired early.

Cassandra
Acquired at the start of the game. Cassandra joins the story with Varric and Solas as your first party members.
Varric

Solas
Acquired at the start of the game. Solas joins the story with Cassandra and Varric as your first party members.

Wedge Of Destiny cheese shield:
The Wedge Of Destiny is a shield made of cheese. It resembles a cheese wheel with one wedge missing. It can be found randomly on picnic tables in Crestwood and chests around Crestwood. There is a chest on a high mount above one of the Crestwood camps. From the starting camp, look for the next closest camp, then search the high ledges nearby to find the chest. The Wedge Of Destiny stats are as follows:

Type: Off Hand Shield.
Armor: 14 – Front.
Level: 9.
Restriction: Warrior Only.
Requirement: Level 6.
+6% Bleed on Being Hit.
+30% Front Defense.
Heal +15% of damage taken over 10 seconds.

Treasure map locations:
Search the indicated location to find a treasure map, then follow it to get the
corresponding loot:

Farmland Cave
The Farmland Cave map can be found in Hafter's Woods. To find the treasure, travel towards Redcliffe Farms. From Redcliff Farms, move west to reach Dead Ram Grove with some enemies. Explore the area for a cave on top of the hill. There is another small cave at the south side of the cavern on top of the hill. Enter that small cave to find the treasure.

Halin Sulahn
The Halin Sulahn map can be found in Ghilan'nain's Grove, at the hunter's camp. You may need to fight or sneak past a dragon to get the map. After obtaining the map, travel towards the Dalish Camp at the southwest edge of the Exalted Plains. Move towards the waterfall south of the Dalish Camp. Go to the right side of the waterfall, then climb the mountain next to it. The treasure is at the top of the mountain, next to the waterfall.

Watcher's Pass
Speak to Fairbanks in Emerald Graves, then explore the camp to find the map in one of the nearby shacks. To find the treasure, travel towards the west side, and reach the westernmost rift near the 'Rush Of Sighs'. Climb the large mountain next to the Fade Rift, then follow the path on the left side of the large lone tree. Collect the treasure, and close the Fade Rift (if desired) before leaving the area.

Waterfall
The Waterfall map can be found at the upper lake camp in the Hinterlands area. To find the treasure, travel towards Lake Luthias, and take the 'West Road'. Continue along the path to reach the broken bridge shown on the map. Then, follow the eastern path to reach to the waterfall displayed on the map. Note: You will have to batle Templars in this area. After killing them, follow the path at the rear of the Templar Encampment to get under the waterfall.
Search for an out of place dirt patch in this area to find the treasure.

Weapons and armor crafting:
You can craft weapons, armor, and potions. To craft a particular item, it requires a recipe and crafting materials. Recipes are obtained by buying schematics from shops, glyphs illuminated by Veilfire, and scrolls discovered in treasure chests. After forming the Inquisition, you can have your smith craft armor and weapons. The smith can also craft weapon and armor upgrades, which can be placed into specific slots. However, to add elemental effects to your armor or upgrades, you must find a dwarf named Dagna.

The schematics required to make equipment are divided into three tiers. A higher tier schematic will always result in better gear. However, they will also require more material per slot to craft.

Tier 1 schematics have 2 slots.
Tier 2 schematics have 3 slots.
Tier 3 schematics have 4 slots.

The available slot types are:

Defense : Provides resistance against elemental attacks and damage-type resistances. You can also cause enemies to gain certain status condition. For example, bleeding when they melee attack.
Offense : Provides bonuses for being offensive. For example, increase damage against barriers/guard, cause bleeding effects, heal after a killing blow, etc.
Primary : Determines the base armor or attack value of the armor or weapon. It also determines the elemental damage of staves.
Utility : Determines attribute upgrades to status such as Willpower, Cunning, Dexterity, Magic,Strength, and Constitution. The attribute boost is directly linked to crafting material.
Masterwork: High tier weapon or armor have an additional Masterwork slot, which requires masterwork crafting material. This slot provides bonuses such as chance-on-hit damage and unique buffs after absorbing damage. These may also add up to a 40% chance of critical crafting (increases all stats of a particular weapon or armor by 10 per cent).
Upgrade : Armor has up to two upgrade slots and weapons have up to three. The materials can greatly improve the quality of the armor and weapon upgrade.
Rune : Does not depend upon the quality of the crafting material. All you need for rune crafting is a rune schematic.

General Tips:
* Try to have one of every class in your party. You'll find a lot of doors and hidden areas in the environment that only one specific class can open.
* Feel free to purchase upgrades from merchants. They're not particularly expensive and you want to upgrade your weapons/armor for stat boosts.
* Make sure to talk to all your companions after each big story event. They often have new things to discuss and may even provide you with a unique sidequest.
* If you don't like how you' leveled up your character, don't worry. You can purchase a respect tool at your base for just 1 gold, though it goes up on price after the first purchase.
* Don't fill all requisitions. They often require materials that can be used for other things, and the only real reward is power. Trust me when I say you'll have plenty of power if you do a few side activities here and there.
* The Hinterlands is the first big area in Inquisition, and there's a lot to see and do there. But don't linger in the Hinterlands too long. You'll be ignoring other cool environments and will likely over-level your characters.
* Closing breaches in an environment is a great way to earn experience.
* Try your best to solve the astrarium puzzles. Solving all of them in a single area opens up a cave with great loot.
* Kill animals and collect herbs when you're exploring. You'll need the materials to craft new weapons, armor, and upgrades.
* Pay careful attention to war council mission descriptions, as some of them open up important characters, options, and other cool things.
* Inquisition allows you to flirt with a lot of characters, but you can only pursue a relationship with some of them based on your gender and race.

Plants vs. Zombies references:
You will find a note that reads 'Plants vs. Corpses from one Daveth the Mad' in Crestwood. Additionally, travel south from Three Trout Camp, and go towards Linden Farm. At Linden Farm, you can find a row of large sunflowers near a crumbling wall.

Infinite skill points:
If a chest with more than one item is not fully looted, it will respawn the contents after fast traveling. Some chests contain the Amulet Of Power, which gives the main character or their followers an extra +1 skill point, depending on which character the amulet is available for. When a chest is found with multiple items inside including an Amulet Of Power, this glitch will work. Only take the Amulet Of Power, leave the other item(s), then fast travel back to
Skyhold. Return to the original location, and the Amulet Of Power will have respawned. To use this glitch in the Village of Crestwood, first unlock the 'Deft Hands, Fine Tools' perk in the Secrets Inquisition tree. You need four other perks in the Secrets section to unlock that perk. It allows Rogues to open Masterwork Locks. Leave Skyhold, and go to to the Village of Crestwood with a Rogue. If you fast traveled to the village, turn right, and go up the steps to find a locked shack. Open the door with your Rogue. Loot the floor near the fireplace to find a container with a Gold Amulet and Amulet Of Power. Take the Amulet Of Power, but leave the Gold Amulet. If you take both items, this glitch will not work. Next, fast travel back to Skyhold or any location outside the Crestwood area. Then, return to the Village of Crestwood, enter the previously locked shack, and loot the floor container again to find the Amulet Of Power has respawned. Repeat this process as many times as desired to earn an unlimited number of skill points. Note: This glitch was performed on an unpatched version of the game.

Infinite gold:
Mark a metal or leather item as valuable. Go to any store, and press [Sell All], then [Sell] in quick succession. Go to the buy back screen, and the item will have doubled or increased by 100. Repeat this as many times as desired.
Note: This glitch was performed on an unpatched version of the game.

Infinite gold and crafting materials:
First, clear out all your valuables items by selling, turning in research, destroying, etc. Take the crafting item you want to duplicate (it is recommended anything from a dragon for money), and put it into valuables. Enter any store, and go to the sell valuables section. Press [Sell All], then [Sell] in quick succession. It will sell all, and bring up the sell how many window if you had more than one. Sell all with that too. Go to the buy back area
to see double what you had available to buy back. Buy it all, and double sell it. Repeat this as many times as desired. Note: This does not work with herbs. Additionally, this glitch was performed on an unpatched version of the game.

Max Power and Influence:
To quickly max out Power and Influence in Dragon Age Inquisition, do the following: You must first reach Skyhold. Go to the merchant in the Southwest corner of the courtyard (Farris the Representative). Click on Buy/Sell and go to the Other section Purchase whichever of the Influence/Power items that you can afford. DO NOT exit the merchant at this point. Immediately go to Sell and sell the item back to the merchant. Repeat as desired. When you exit the merchant Buy/Sell screen, you will get the accumulated Influence/Power from your 'purchases.'

Dragon Age Inquisition Beginner’s Crafting Guide by JanissaryJames

This is my attempt at a beginner’s guide to crafting in DA:I. A lot of the information here will be biased toward what I find to be the more relevant points of crafting and barely touching, if at all, on other points that are less crucial to an effective build or what I find to be just all around poor investments. SO without further ado, here we go…

More

In DA:I, each character can equip:

  • Armor: This is the clothes you wear to look pretty while slaying bad guys and demons in the field. This will not have any effect on the royal pajamas you wear in Haven/Skyhold. Most armor you will loot and all (but a handful of crafted armor found in the later hours of the game) will also have two upgrade slots as well:
    • Arms: adds stats directly to your base armor. Changes the appearance of your armor from the shoulders to the ends of the arms.
    • Legs: adds stats directly to your base armor. Changes the appearance of your armor from the groin to the ends of the legs.
  • Weapon: tool of destruction for dispatching baddies and bringing order back to the land in your wake.
    • Grip/haft: adds stats directly to your base weapon. Changes the appearance of your weapon where your character places their hands on the weapon.
    • Pommel/Blade: Only available on two handed warrior weapons and mage staves respectfully. Adds stats directly to your base weapon. Changes the appearance of your weapon at the end nearest to the ground while wielded.
    • Rune: adds a flat damage to each attack with your weapon whose magnitude is dictated by the rune in question and the enemy being used against and is taken into account into a weapon’s DPS number calculation. Runes focused on a specific enemy type will add more damage than elemental runes, but are ineffective against enemies that do not fall under their jurisdiction. Elemental runes at first glance appear weaker, but will result in more reliable damage across the board and therefor are usually a better investment. Runes of Dragon-Slaying are the poorest overall investment due to their narrow focus. Spirit runes can only be used on staffs and are the only elemental rune that can be applied to staffs. Dagger/dagger rogues should apply a demon slaying and a corrupting rune in each hand to maximize their DPS.

In DA:I you cannot craft without schematics. In every schematic, you will have 2-4 mat slots. These slots will each be one of 4 flavors and they are created far from equal. Below are the 4 types, listed in order of importance to an effective overall build:

  • Damage/armor: Present on every single base weapon and armor schematic respectfully. Determines a weapon’s damage and an armor’s armor rating directly. This slot is unavoidable and should just be as high as you can get it without exception.
  • Offense: only found on weapons and weapon upgrades. Affects derived offensive stats such as critical damage, armor penetration, barrier damage bonus, ect. Most importantly: certain cloth and metals increase your attack % directly and in greater magnitude than any other means. These are the most important upgrades to have after weapon damage. Leather does not offer attack % bonus and therefore schematics containing “Offense: X Leather” slots should be passed on. We’ll go over slot preference hierarchy later.
  • Utility: can be found on any schematic. Offers in increase in primary attributes. Gear that will be equipped to a mage will benefit from “Utility: X Cloth,” rogues benefitting from “Utility: X Leather,” and warriors benefitting from “Utility: X Metal” slots.
  • Defense: Only found on armor and armor upgrades. Offers and increase in derived defensive attributes. This is pretty much the least desirable slot to have in a schematic as it offers no offensive improvement.

Before we can begin crafting effectively, we need to understand how to make effective builds, and thereby need to understand primary attributes, and what exactly the points you put in them do to affect your derived attributes. The most important derived attribute is attack. Some would argue this is an over simplification, which may very well be true, but a good offense is the best defense and it is undeniable that increased attack will improve every class and character’s combat prowess. You simply cannot have too much attack. If you are crafting a piece of gear with a utility slot, the most desirable stat bonus to improve attack will vary from class to class:

  • As a mage, magic and willpower are tied for best in class and are only found on “Utility: X cloth” slots. Stack as much of either or both you can into one slot. If one material type offers “+15 magic” and another offers “+10 magic/+10 willpower” The latter is the definitively the better choice as it results in more points overall being added to you attack %. Avoid other Utility slots.
  • As a rogue, Dexterity is the best primary attribute to stack, so look out for whatever adds the most dexterity in your “Utility: X Leather” slots. Cunning is less desirable as it does not add to your attack %, so if one material type offers “+15 Dexterity” and another offers “+10 Dexterity/+10 Cunning,” the former would be the preferred choice by a very slim margin so don’t be afraid of taking cunning in conjunction with dexterity, so long as dexterity gets preferential treatment. Again, some may argue this is an over simplification but each point of cunning has varied levels of effectiveness on a case by case basis and would require much math to determine cunning’s effectiveness in your situation, and since this is a beginner’s guide, we’ll go with the sure bet. Willpower is a close runner up to Dexterity if no “Utility: X Leather” slots are available, so take “Utility: X Cloth” in this scenario. Avoid “Utility: X metal” slots.
  • As a warrior, Strength is the primary attribute to go for if you have “Utility: X metal” to fill, Willpower if you have “Utility: X cloth” slots. Both are equally effective. Always pass on “Utility: X leather” slots.
Age

In practice all this ordering and precedence can get very confusing, so try to remember this list and attempt to get these slots on your schematics to achieve these bonuses:

Dragon Age Inquisition More Skill Slots

  1. Offense: X Metal/Cloth – +attack % (only found on weapons and weapon upgrades)
  2. Respective class’s Utility slot – +respective primary attribute as detailed above
  3. Utility: X Cloth – +Willpower
  4. Offense: X Leather – +flanking damage %
  5. Defense: X Metal – +max health and +melee defense% are probably your best bet if you couldn’t avoid taking a defense slot. (Only found on armor and armor upgrades)
  6. Defense: X Cloth/Leather – +magic defense% and +ranged defense% are you best bets if you absolutely have to take one of these slots.

Dragon Age Inquisition More Quick Slots

So, with all that in mind you should be ready to go out and collect schematics and start putting them to use! The merchant up the stairs over the fountain in Val R., the dwarf bookseller near the piers in Redcliffe, the fort merchant in Emprise du Lion, and the merchant in Hissing Wastes near the western camp are the best merchants to buy schematics from. Remember, craft early and craft often and don’t be afraid to use what you have. Better to use something too early and get a little bit of use out of it than to hold on to it forever and never use it.
