The Marina Bay Sands (simplified Chinese:滨海湾金沙综合娱乐城; pinyin: Bīnhǎiwān JīnshāZōnghé Yúlèchéng) will be Singapore's second casino after Resorts World at Sentosa,being developed by one of the world's biggest gaming companies, Las VegasSands, at MarinaSouth in central Singapore. Completion of the IntegratedResort is expected for 2010. The casino and one of the hoteltowers was expected to open in December 2009. However, on July 8,2009, it was announced that the initial phase of the Marina BaySands will open early 2010.[1]
Las Vegas Sands has committed to invest S$3.85billion in the project, not including the fixed $1.2 billion costof the 6,000,000 square feet (560,000 m2) siteitself. [1] The total costof the development is placed at S$8.0 billion.[1]In addition to the casino, other key components of the plan arethree hotel towers with 2,600 rooms and suites, a200,000-square-foot (19,000 m2) arts and sciencesmuseum and a convention centre with 1,200,000 square feet(111,000 m2) of space, capable of accommodatingover 52,000 people. The resort, inspired by card decks, wasdesigned by MosheSafdie. The company has promised to create 10,400 jobs for theproject, 75 percent of them reserved for Singaporeans.
Marina Bay Sands will feature three 55 storey hotel towers whichwere topped out in July 2009. The three towers will be connectedwith a 1 hectare sky terrace on the roof.
In front of the three towers will be a Theatre Block, aConvention and Exhibition Facilities Block, as well as the CasinoBlock, which will have up to 1 000 gaming tables and 1 400 slotmachines. The Art-Science Museum will be constructed next to thethree blocks and will have the shape of a lotus. Its roof will beretractable, providing a waterfall through the roof of collectedrainwater when closed in the day and treating audiences to lasershows when opened at night. The Art-Science Museum will be ready byearly-2010.
The 55 storeys of the three towers have been topped out on 8July 2009 with outfitting of rooms completed to the 15th to 16thfloors (As of March 2009).Cladding of the towers completed in September 2009.

•a majestic grand ballroom of more than 8,000 square meters witha seating capacity for 6,600 persons for a banquet, 7,000 personsfor a stage performance, or 11,000 persons for an auditorium-stylelecture.

Museum
The Museum’s lotus-inspired design lends a powerful iconicpresence to Singapore’s waterfront and is a symbolic gesture ofwelcome to guests from across the globe. The distinct forms of thiscultural institution are evocative of its noble objective – toadvance the exploration of the arts and the sciences, and theconnections between them. Visitors will be inspired by theblockbuster exhibitions from around the world.
The museum’s unique roof is specially designed to channelrainwater through the centre atrium of the building as a waterfall.At night, the same roof transforms into an amphitheatre,enthralling audiences with great light and laser shows andfireworks with the city in the background.[3]
